Oribe ware is a pottery made in early 17th centuries in Mino area in [W:Gifu Prefectures].

Oribe ware was stylized by a famous tea master Furuta Oribe who was also a bushi.

The characteristics of Oribe ware is the strange shape and the abstractive drawings.

The glaze colors are green, red and black.

It’s simple and earthy; also it has freedoms that are seen in contemporary arts.

Oribe ware is in high favor among antique collectors; especially, the ones that were made in 17th centuries are what collectors eager to get.
