“Have a break, have a KitKat!”
The UK born chocolate covered wafer, KitKat is very popular in Japan, and there are dozens of original flavors found in Japan.
Besides the original one, white chocolate, green tea, strawberry, cantaloupe, passion fruit, banana, apple, grape or yogurt flavors are available.
Seasonal flavors or regionally limited flavors are on sale too; for example, soy sauce flavored KitKat is sold only in Tokyo.
Since the Japanese pronunciation of KitKat, “Kitto Katto” sounds like “Kittto Katsu” meaning “Surely Win”, the students who take entrance exam for school or a university eat KitKat for good luck.
This is JAPAN Style!
