Annually, the third Thursday of November is the day when Beaujolais Nouveau is officially released for sale.
Beaujolais Nouveau is a red wine made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France.
It’s light-bodied very fruity red wine. In Japan, Beaujolais Nouveau Day is a big day.
Although the annual wine consumption in Japan is not so much, Japan consumes nearly the half of the total Beaujolais Nouveau each year!!
Many liquor stores and supermarkets carry them and have special display for them.
At a spa in Hakone entertains the guests with Beaujolais Nouveau bath!!
The 2009 release of Beaujolais Nouveau is said to be very good.
Some Beaujolais Nouveau are bottled in plastic PET bottles, which are lighter than glass bottles and less fuel is used to ship; therefore, the price got cheaper than it was before.
