Japanese people love mimikaki (ear picks)!
They use mimikaki as well as cotton swabs to clean their ears, so everyone has a couple of them at home.
There are all kinds of mimikaki are sold at stores.
Mimikaki are also popular as souvenirs at tourist-sites, just like key chains or cell phone charms.
In Japan, people clean each others’ ears with ear picks, especially a mother to a child or a wife to a husband.
It’s considered as an intimacy action, and the scene that a newly wed wife cleans her husband’s ears with mimikaki on her laps is often seen in Japanese movies or animes.
