Hachiko — Japanese famous dog!

Hachiko Statue is on of the most famous statues in Japan.

Hachiko is an Akita dog, which lived 1923 to 35, and known as “chuken(faithful dog) Hachiko”.

Because Hachi was so faithful to his owner, he waited for the owner at the station everyday, even after the owner died.

One of the Hachiko statues stands right in front of the Shibuya station.

It is a popular meeting landmark; it’s common to say “Let’s meet at the Hachiko” among Tokyo people but because the statue is so small, people get confused when they meet someone at Hachiko for the first time.

Now Hachiko is about to be famous in Hollywood??

There is a movie “Hachiko: A Dog’s Story” coming out in the U.S.A. in December.

The film features Richard Gere.

It was already released in Japan.

It’s an American movie, and it set in America, not Japan.
