In Japan’s tropical island, Okinawa, the 2nd Okinawa International Movie Festival is held now till 28th.

Unlike other film festivals, this one is focusing on comedy movies, setting “Laugh and Peace” as its slogan.

During the festival, there are various events going on besides showing comedy movies, for example, there are stage shows by TV comedy stars everyday.

There is also a film competition with two awards; Golden Shisa Award that is decided by the competition committee and Uminchu Award that is decided by the audiences.

For the opening ceremony, many TV stars were invited including a singer Namie Amuro and singer trio Yajima Biyoshitsu (which JAPAN Style previously introduced.
