
This is a part of preparation for Kakitsu Festival at Tanzan Shrine.
What this lady is making is an offering to a god, and called Nigishine.
Patterns at the bottom of the cylinder part is coloured rice.
This type of offering is particularly difficult to make, and a man on the left is an expert with 50 years experience.
