During 90’s, a Japanese pop-rock duo, PUFFY became a big pop icon in the country, and their fun and catchy music has sold millions in Japan.

PUFFY is consisted of two girls, Ami and Yumi. If you live in North America, you might know them as “Puffy Ami Yumi” from the American cartoon that featured them, which is called “Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi”.

When PUFFY debut in 1996, they gave huge impact on the Japanese music industry which was so influenced by Western music at that time because the duo was singing nonsense in simple T-shirt and jeans style.

Their style was called “lassitude style” and they got many followers.

PUFFY’s popularity got steadier down today.

The latest album “Bring it!” was released in June 2009, and the latest single “Dareka ga” is the theme song for the movie “Naruto Shipp? den 3: Inheritors of the Will of Fire”.
