Can you believe that there is a FREE cafe chain in Japan?
It’s called Hariyamaya Station and they serve rice cracker and drinks for free. The original rice cracker store, Hariyamaya started business in 1862 as a flame oil seller, and made specialty of rice crackers in 1971.
The free cafe station has 7 locations in the country; in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nagoya, and Fukuoka.

They sell crackers at the front counter and behind it is the cafe.
At the cafe, there are 8 kinds of rice crackers in jars. It is a serve-yourself style.
You can also have house-roasted coffee, hoji cha (roasted tea), barley tea, black tea, orange juice for free.
According to the people who visited the cafe, it was comfortable place and the rice crackers are so delicious that they can’t believe there is no money charge.
In the future, the company will open more locations in [W:Shinjuku], [W:Shibuya], [W:Sapporo], Paris, and New York.
