It has been believed that Bamboo has anticeptic action,
so it has traditionally been used to wrap mochi, sweets and other food. 
People appreciate and pray for healthy growth of the plant,
firmly linked to Japanese life, during this festival. 
Taken is Bamboo festival (a. k. a. cancer preventive summer festival) of  Daianji-Temple.
